How working at a children’s theater made me a better educator
I have always loved (and still do love!) performing. I especially loved performing on the stage, where audience feedback is immediate, connecting the performers with the audience. Being in front of children now, I realize that my voice, my ability to improvise, and my love of entertaining combined with experience directing have all been valuable assets. The feedback that I now receive of children laughing, or a child looking at me with delight in their eyes when accomplishing a task they previously could not do, is incredibly rewarding.
