How working at Super Soccer Stars made me a better educator
Working as a soccer coach has been great. Because I have to work with children ages 2 to 12, both typically developing and with special needs, this experience has shown me the importance of thinking on my feet, realizing quickly when a lesson isn’t working and changing it, and using the children’s interests to propel the lesson. Even before I was a soccer coach, I thought it was important for children to have a lot of physical exercise, and since coaching, this belief has been strengthened. Most of my lessons incorporate some kind of movement component, allowing the children to both have some exercise and to learn through a variety of approaches.
